In February 2021, I posted the following: “In the spirit of giving, if I am elected I will be donating half of my stipend each year to a local non-profit to support our community. I don’t need a stipend for child care or other arrangements. Therefore, this money should go back into the community to benefit those in need.” Stipends are distributed twice per year and I will be donating $200 from my first prorated stipend.
The non-profit I have chosen is Aunt Dot’s Place. From their website: “Aunt Dot’s Place, Inc. is a registered 501c3 charitable corporation and is an independent organization with no official ties to any religious or secular institution. We have no paid staff and all of our funding comes from our generous community. We serve the residents of Essex, Essex Junction, Jericho, Underhill and Westford.”
As part of this effort, I will be hosting a donation drive between now and June 15, 2021. If you’d like to add to my contribution, please visit my fundraising page on Facebook; donations from this fundraiser go directly to Aunt Dot’s. If you wish to donate items to Aunt Dot’s, please visit their website or check their Facebook page for a listing of currently needed items.
